When you compare any two cars, like the turbo Scion tC and the Honda Civic you have to start from big to small, working from unique parts of each car to more general items. For instance, the first feature to look at that the Scion tC can come with is the turbo package. If you get the turbo, it won’t be much power added, but you will definitely tell a difference from the Civics lighter power, although the Civic Si is V-tech.
So what’s better? Well, it all depends on your styles of tuning and the parts selection available for that car. Scion came out with a car that was basic and attractive, much like the Honda Civic always had been. However, when the turbo tC came out, they opened the doors to new auto tuners to come and purchase their way into another tuner car that has only just begun. This was attractive to many young kids who were always attracted to Honda Civics, and now are of age to purchase their own cars. The turbo Scion tC gave an easier route for people looking for Civics, simply because there are very limited sources on clean older Civics. Newer Civics have recently been sort of expensive and many daily working auto tuners want something cheaper, but still be able to customize.
If you are comparing the Honda Civic to the Scion tC, with respect to how many aftermarket parts and upgrades each car can have, I would have to say the Scion tC has out-ran the newer Civics. However, if you where to look at every generation of the Civic with respect to the numbers of Scion tC’s, it would be obvious the Honda Civic tuner car industry is way deeper, larger, and older, having more recognition than that of the Scion tC.
It also depends on to what extent you want to customize. If you want to make a turbo Honda Civic V-tech, you could build that thing to out run any turbo Scion tC. Both of the car styles have grown to be very different. The Civic has taken on some of the Accord features, like the longer body length. The Scion tC is staying the very basic, boxier type of style. They are sort of like the old style Honda Civics, with a new edge to it.
I must say, I have seen many older Civics, like the EG and EK styles out driving at night, on the well known cruising streets. This was probably because of the low economy and people are looking for cheaper, long lasting cars. In the auto shows, it’s a different story. There is a lot more money and more connections, resulting in better selection of customizations. With this, both the turbo Scion tC and the Honda Civic can be tuned to great extents. In the end, it all boils down to your resources and connections for parts. The more you can get, the bigger and better your car will be.

Car repair service is something that it’s worth spending some time doing a little research about in order to find a shop that’s a good fit for you and your car. As with most services, it pays in the long run to spend some time shopping around for a good, honest car repair shop.
Time spent finding the best Boulder auto repair facility for you and your car is an investment of time and effort that will give you peace of mind and could potentially lengthen the life of your car. It’s something that you should only have to do once or at least not very often because once you find a good auto shop, you will become a long-time, loyal customer for many years to come
Perhaps one of the best indicators of a quality Boulder car shop is the word of mouth that gets around about it. In Boulder, word can spread quite easily via the student population at the University of Colorado, especially with all the social media avenues of communication that students use every day, including Twitter, Facebook and MySpace.
So, in the context of social media at CU, a good repair shop can quickly have loyal customers who are willing to let others know about the best Boulder car repair service they have found in town because it just outshines all their previous experience with other shops in the past. Do some searches in Twitter or Facebook looking for students talking about their experience with local car shops.
Another place to find Boulder locals talking about local repair shops is on some directory type of websites that allow readers to write reviews. When you do a search in Google for Boulder car repairs, some websites you will find in the search engines will have customer reviews. You need to be a little careful here and not swallow everything you read whole.
Sometimes a review will smack of a competitor trying to bad mouth a decent repair shop. If most of the reviews are positive and plausible, one or two really negative reviews would not necessarily steer me completely away from a car repair shop, especially if the auto shop has been in business for several years.
Having said that, if I find numerous negative comments about the same Boulder repair shop on several sites by different people, that will get my attention and I will probably not consider trying that shop.
Another tip for selecting a good car repair shop in Boulder is to choose an auto shop where the technicians work on several different makes of cars-both foreign imports such as Volkwagen, Subaru, Toyota, Honda, Audi, Porsche as well as domestic cars such as Ford, Cadillac, GMC, etc. You will be able to tell by the Yellow Page ad or the shop’s website. For example, the local shop called Bolder Auto has a website where they talk about what specific makes and models they like to work on.

Honda offers a wide range of vehicles, from the nimble, fuel-efficient Fit to the triumphantly returning Insight and the inimitable Odyssey. However, the fact remains that two of Honda’s top offerings, in terms of buyer popularity, are the Element and the Pilot. Which should you choose? If you find yourself in this conundrum, you’ll need to know the differences between the two vehicles.
While it might seem odd to contrast the two vehicles, with the Element built on the CR-V platform and the Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline sharing a platform, it can be done with little real trouble. So, what do these two vastly different vehicles have in common?
Well, for starters, they’re both SUVs, though the Pilot is certainly the larger of the two. However, the Element is no slouch and offers almost as much interior space as the Pilot, even though the package is definitely smaller.
In terms of potential cargo space, the Pilot comes in with 87 cubic feet, while the Element serves up an impressive 74.6 cubic feet (that’s maximum cargo space, though; you’ll find only 25.1 cubic feet behind the second row seats).
In terms of power, the two differ, as well. The Pilot offers Honda’s powerful V6, which also powers the Odyssey and the Ridgeline. The Element uses the CR-V 4-cylinder engine, which offers 166 hp, at 5800 RPM. The Pilot, in comparison, offers 250 at 5700 RPM. Of course, the Element weighs in less than the Pilot, so that power to weight ratio might not mean as much as it looks like in black and white.
For those who want to take their ride off-road, the Pilot is available in 4-wheel drive, while the Element only comes in 2-wheel drive. Of course, the body style of the Element doesn’t exactly lend itself to off-road use (but who in their right mind wants to muddy up their Pilot?).
In terms of passenger capacity, the Pilot wins out, as well, bringing three rows of seating to the party (thought that back row might not be the most comfortable place for long-legged folks to recline). The Element has only two rows of seating, but offers 64 seating arrangements (the seats are removable and completely adjustable – flexibility that you will not find in the Pilot).
Therefore, it seems that we have two worthy, though very different SUVs. The Pilot is an excellent choice for those who have to haul things (or burn rubber), while the Element is the perfect solution for drivers who want flexibility and plenty of options.

HID or High Intensity Discharge lights are a special kind of light which have been specifically designed to emit an extremely powerful and concentrated beam of light, and are vastly superior to their bog standard factory produced counterparts which are default item of all new cars. A common novice mistake is that they fail to fully appreciate the practical benefits these remarkable lights offer, deriding them as little more than a folly, a useless vanity.
In reality, Honda HID lights are extremely durable meaning that in the long run, the car owner will be able to reap the benefits of substantial savings. The reason for this is elegant in its simplicity, ordinary car lights are created and rely upon halogen bulbs which are very inefficient, have a limited lifespan and worse yet, are costly to use, operate and maintain.
Honda HID lights are created using xenon and to give an approximate measure of the output they produce, HID lights emit as much light as does a street lamp meaning that for those drivers who are uncomfortable driving at night (and lets face it, who isn’t?) the driving experience is so much smoother.
A common misconception whenever it comes to technological devices is that we assume that we have to make a choice between either form or function, with no hope of having both. Thankfully, Honda HID lights manage to overcome this problem as not only will they help to significantly reduce the running costs associated with your car but they are also available in a number of different stylish colours to choose from.
Given how competitive the market for Honda HID lights is, you may want to double check the warranty that is offered by a particular supplier, and you can use this as the final deciding factor to help choose between otherwise equal merchandise.
If you want to save even more money then you are strongly advised to search for your Honda HID lights on the internet as many online suppliers and retailers will offer significant discounts in order to further entice a prospective customer. As with any internet transaction, please ensure that you exercise due diligence by carefully reading and studying the fine print involved with the transaction. Please also exercise caution when choosing between particular sites, and only ever rely upon those sites which offer stringent payment options.
The last thing you want is to pay for your Honda HID via online, only to discover that your bank details have been stolen and your personal account compromised as in such cases, your Honda HID lights will cost significantly more than you intended to pay! In order to keep yourself safe, make sure that the site accepts payment via a recognised and reliable finance gateway such as paypal or escrow. The same due caution is equally applicable if you intend to use sites such as eBay.

The 2006 Honda Civic sedan is said to be one the most advanced piece of automotive machinery today. If you’ve been reading all the car reviews and magazines, with all the praises the new 2006 Honda Civics have been getting would lead you to think that it is indeed some kind of engineering break through. The 2006 Honda Civic may not be the most advanced car, but it is the most practical and reliable car for the amount you are paying.
I’ve been driving a Honda Civic for years now, and I have been faithfully loyal to Honda’s lineup. My 1992 Honda Civic has over 200K miles on it, and it has only two problems that required more than a thousand dollars in maintenance. It’s also been in a serious accident, but now it shows signs of its age or experience today. Other than these, this Honda Civic has no other major serious problems. Honda Civics are generally known for its reliability and robustness. Also, you may be interested in getting one of those cool GPS satellite navigation systems that comes along with the new 2006 Honda Civics.
What else is new with the 2006 Honda Civic that is winning it so much praise? The first thing you will notice is that they gave the car another makeover. Sort of like the makeover they gave the ‘92 model, going from the previous box look to the sleeker model, the ‘06 model is another leap forward towards a sleeker, futuristic, and dynamic design. The 2006 Honda Civic sedan is much more attractive than the 1992 model.
The 2006 Honda Civics has all gotten a boost to their performance as well. The 2006 Honda Civic sedan now has a 140 horsepower 1.8 liter i-VTEC engine with a Drive-by-Wire Throttle System, giving it more zip than ever. It is also even more fuel efficient than any of the previous Honda Civics, getting an incredible 40 MPG on highways, and 30 MPG in cities. The fuel efficiency alone is a good reason to look into buying a 2006 Honda Civic, but they are also low emission vehicles.
If you have been driving the new 2006 Honda Civic, you will probably be driving this Honda for some time to come. They’ve proven to be extremely reliable, efficient, and fun little cars, and are actually extremely affordable as well. If you are looking for the environmental friendly Honda Civic, you will be happy to check out the Honda Civic Hybrid, an Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) rating, so you can save on gas while enjoying amenities like the new multi-tiered instrument panel, a sophisticated audio system, and available navigation system.

Modifying your Honda Civic engine to gain more horsepower is a common and easy thing to do. Luckily for you there are thousands of people who have already done this so you can simply copy what they have done or alternatively build on what they have done to gain even more horsepower. Remember that no parts combination is the absolute best, there is always room for improvement.
To begin with the basics of making more horsepower from your Honda Civic, regardless of what engine it has, is to increase its breathing capacity. Remember that an engine is essentially a big air pump so making it work more efficiently will increase its horsepower and torque. Air enters the engine through the intake system, so this needs to be upgraded to yield maximum results. On the other side of the engine is where air exits, commonly known as the exhaust system. Once again the stock system is not very efficient and large gains can be had by installing an aftermarket exhaust and header. Finally an aftermarket ECU will ensure the engine adapts to these changes.
Intake
There are many different types of intake but the best one to go for is a Cold Air Intake. This type of system draws in cold air from inside of the front bumper bar which ensures there is always a steady supply of fresh air to the engine maximizing power. The problem with short ram type systems is that hot air is drawn in from the engine bay which results in a loss of power.
Header
This is the first part of your exhaust system from the engine side. It is where the exhaust gasses exit from the engine out of each of the cylinders (usually four in the case of a Honda) and merge into one pipe. Choosing the right header is important as it affects power delivery. A 4-2-1 style header will give excellent midrange power but will not provide any increase at the top end. A 4-1 style header will produce lots of top end power but possibly at the expensive of low end power, and therefore drivability.
Exhaust
Bigger exhaust piping will make more horsepower 90% of the time. Some people say that naturally aspirated engines need backpressure but this is just a myth. A large exhaust will however be quite loud so consider this when choosing which one to purchase. Generally speaking any aftermarket exhaust is an upgrade and will gain you more horsepower.
ECU
To maximize your horsepower after installing these new modifications you will need to install, and get tuned an aftermarket ECU. An ECU is the computer which controls all functions of your car and engine. A properly tuned ECU will see your Honda gain about 10% in peak horsepower.
In conclusion modifying your Honda Civic Engine is usually a rewarding experience as there are large horsepower gains to be found. Remember though to do things the right way first and if in doubt contact a professional.

The car holds an edge of visual appeal and safety along with versatility in engine section. This little high performance model from Honda is sure to win your heart when you put your hands on the steering and find the comfort level. And as you ride the car you realize the engine performance of this little master which is indeed a good choice among affordable luxury mid size cars. In the year 2007 and before that other models like Hyundai Electra took the prize of car of the year, but with roaring price rise of fuel the Honda Civic displays its power of giving you a good mileage with its not so powerful but yet reliable engine.
Engine Performance
Honda civic ranks the top position with its overall achievements in all categories which include it’s powerful Honda Civic engine. The car is a sordid example of power and agility which one can expect even from the entry level of the car. They are available in both engine options. You can either choose for the all new 1.8-liter, 16-valve SOHC I-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine which is capable of producing 140 horsepower. The 140 horsepower is quite enough for the mid size car for a comfortable ride on the highway as well as on the city roads. Buyers can also opt for another powerful 2.0-liter, 16-valve SOHC I-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine that outputs 197 horsepower.
Many reviews point out that 1.8 liter Honda civic engines are more polished than you would expect for such an affordable compact car. You have options to choose from either five speeds manual or five speeds automatic. It is estimated that the 1.8 liter engine can give good mileage and can run 26 miles per gallon in the city and 34 on the highway. The 2.0l engine can give a little less mileage than its sibling 1.8l.
Though the car cannot be said the quickies to its limits but with such good engine specs like MacPherson supports front suspension the engine responds well to your punch of gas at speeds between 25 mph to65 mph.

The wife and I bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey in 2007 that had only 23,000 miles on it, in tip top shape, with the 3.5 v-tech twin overhead cam enduro engine, that easily cruises at 70 miles per hour, with a top end of 160, for a smart price of $23,999. It has been one of the best investments I have ever made. We use it to transport our day care kids to and from elementary school, take trips on the weekend to buy toys, blankets, pillows at auction for resale to other used toy & thrift stores in the area. The back bench seats lay down into the recessed trunk, and the middle captain chairs fold down so I can fit almost any backyard toy, broken down, into the back.
Long Trips
It is excellent for long trips with the form fitting seats that have complete creature comfort that adjusts to your lower lumbar to make the fit easily. For breaks the wife will drive while I jump in the back to catch a few winks in the captain chairs that lay-back almost horizontal. It also has a wonderful vehicle stability assist (VSA) system that helps to stabilize the vehicle during cornering. It also assists you in maintaining traction while accelerating on loose or slippery roads. It does this by regulating the engines output and by selectively applying the brakes.
Standard Systems
Of course the Honda Odyssey has the standard cruise control, excellent security system, and a entertainment system that will blow you away. Able to load and launch 6 CD’s your listening pleasure is always at your fingertips. With the overhead dvd screen unit that flips down for easy access to your favorite Disney dvd’s and music video’s, the children just love it.
Gas Mileage
We average 25 miles per gallon on the highway at 65 on cruise control. We have a driving range of 450 miles that lets us drive the whole tri-state area here in Illinois on one tank of gas, whether it is looking for toys, going to concerts, casinos, or my favorite eatery in Heartland Missouri. On the highway popping the transmission into drive 3 lets you kick around traffic without blinking an eye or the van even working hard. This smart piece of work has spectacular performance on the road, passing Mack trucks in pouring rainstorms while staying glued to the road with its excellent Michelin wheel power. This cruiser runs silent and hard like no other Honda Odyessy I have ever owned.
Conclusion
